Covered, secured warehouse space for equipment that should not be sitting in the weather — with an overhead crane to get it in and out.
Indoor storage at Titan is a working industrial warehouse, not a self-storage unit with a roller door. Clear-span space, hard floors rated for heavy point loads, and equipment on site to move things that a forklift cannot.
Some of what sits in our warehouses
- Crated and uncrated process equipment
- Electric motors, pumps and rotating equipment
- Palletized stock and spare parts inventory
- Bulk bags and packaged materials
- Instrumentation, control panels and electrical assemblies
- Machined components and fabricated assemblies
That is a sample, not a limit. Forty years in, there is very little we have not had through the door at some point. If what you have is not on the list, ask — the answer is usually yes.
The overhead crane
Our Lilac Street site has three overhead bridge cranes across two buildings — a 30 ton and a 20 ton that run in tandem for lifts up to 100,000 pounds, plus a further 30 ton elsewhere on site. That is the difference between equipment being placed and equipment being wrestled.
It means heavy and awkward items can be lifted vertically and set down precisely, without improvised rigging, without a mobile crane booked for a morning, and without the handling damage that comes from moving something the hard way. It also means we can stack and retrieve without disturbing everything around it.
For heavier lifts we bring in crane companies we have worked with for years — or work alongside your own crane company of choice, if you would rather arrange it yourself. More on rigging and handling.
Indoor, or humidity controlled?
Worth being clear about the difference, because they are not the same service.
Indoor storage keeps equipment out of rain, sun and wind. For most crated goods, structural items and equipment with protective coatings, that is enough.
Humidity controlled storage additionally holds relative humidity between 43 and 50%, below the level at which atmospheric corrosion of steel accelerates. That is what you want for bare metal, sealing surfaces, electronics and anything going into long-term lay-up.
A roof alone does not stop Gulf Coast humidity. If corrosion is the risk that would write off your asset, the roof is not the part doing the work.
Short term and long term
Equipment staged for a turnaround that needs to be somewhere dry for six weeks, and spares that will sit for three years, are both normal here. Tell us the timeframe and what the equipment is, and we will quote it properly.
