Storage keeps equipment out of the weather. Maintenance keeps it ready to run. On request, we do both.
Equipment does not sit still well. Bearings take a set under a stationary load. Windings draw moisture. Internal surfaces corrode in air nobody is watching. A machine that went into storage in working order can come out needing a shop visit before it will run — and that is usually discovered at the worst possible moment, when it is wanted urgently.
Most storage yards will not touch this. It is not what they do, and they are not equipped for it. We are.
What we can do while it is with us
Shaft rotation
Rotating shafts on a schedule so bearings do not take a set in one position. A motor left standing for months can develop flat spots and brinelling on the races — damage that is invisible until it is started and does not sound right.
Electrical hookups for motors
Energising space heaters so windings stay above dew point and do not draw moisture. On a Gulf Coast site this matters more than it would almost anywhere else.
Oil misting
Coating internal surfaces to keep bare metal protected through a long lay-up, in places a visual inspection would never reach.
Nitrogen purge
Displacing the air inside vessels and equipment with dry nitrogen. No oxygen and no moisture means no internal corrosion, however long it sits.
And others, on request
If your equipment has a documented lay-up procedure, send it to us. If your manufacturer specifies something particular, we will follow it. Tell us what the requirement is and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it.
Why this matters more than it sounds
Two costs sit behind stored equipment, and only one of them is the storage bill.
The other is what it takes to put the asset back in service. A spare motor that needs rewinding, a pump that needs stripping, a vessel that has to be inspected before it can be signed off — those costs arrive when the equipment is needed, which is exactly when there is no time for them.
Maintenance during storage is the cheaper end of that trade. It is also the reason to store somewhere that can do it, rather than somewhere that simply has room.
How it works
These are services on request, not a standard package — you tell us what your equipment needs and we agree it up front. Some customers want a documented schedule with records; others want one specific thing done and nothing else. Both are fine.
