Getting equipment off the truck and set down safely is part of the job, not something you arrange separately.
This is where storage providers differ most, and it rarely shows up in a quote. Plenty of yards will rent you a fenced rectangle and leave the lifting to you — which means booking a mobile crane, coordinating a rigging contractor, and owning the risk when something awkward has to be moved twice.
Most of it we do ourselves, with our own equipment and certified riggers on staff. For the heaviest lifts we bring in crane companies we have worked with for years — either way it is arranged and coordinated by us, not left to you. More on how that works below.

Two overhead cranes — up to 100,000 lb in tandem
Three overhead bridge cranes across two buildings at our Lilac Street site:
- One building — a 30 ton and a 20 ton. Singly, up to 60,000 pounds. Run in tandem, up to 100,000 pounds.
- A second building — a 30 ton. Up to 60,000 pounds.
Most of our warehouses have overhead cranes of one capacity or another. That matters more than the headline number: a heavy item is not stuck behind whatever is occupying the one crane bay, and it can be set down where it makes operational sense rather than where the only crane happens to be.
Two cranes also means two pick points, and that matters as much as the tonnage. A long item — a vessel, a pipe rack, structural steel, a long skid — lifted from a single point wants to bend under its own weight. On two cranes it comes up level and stays level.
Long, heavy and awkward all at once is the combination most yards turn away. It is routine here.
Tandem lifting is not just arithmetic, either. Two cranes on one load have to be rigged and driven together, in step. It is the difference between equipment being placed and equipment being wrestled.
It means heavy and off-center loads can be lifted vertically and set down precisely — without improvised rigging, without a mobile crane booked for a morning, and without the handling damage that comes from moving something the hard way. It also means we can retrieve an item from the middle of a run without disturbing everything around it.
Forklifts — 5,000 to 65,000 lb
A fleet ranging from 5,000 pounds up to 65,000 pounds. The small ones do the routine work; the large ones handle what would otherwise need a crane booked in advance.
Having the range matters. Bringing a 65,000 lb machine to a pallet is as wrong as trying to lift a loaded skid with something rated for a tenth of it — and most operations own one or the other, not both.
Above 100,000 lb
Our own equipment tops out at 100,000 pounds. That is not the limit of what we will store — we routinely handle equipment well over 200,000 pounds by bringing in outside cranes. In practice, weight is rarely the limiting factor.
Transport and heavy lifts — however you want to handle it
Some customers arrange their own transportation and use their own crane company of choice. That is completely fine. We will coordinate site access, schedule the window and work alongside whoever you bring. If you have a hauler you trust or a corporate arrangement already in place, use them.
Others would rather not manage another set of vendors. We will take it off your hands entirely — arrange the transport, source the crane, schedule the lift, and give you one point of contact instead of three.
If we are arranging it
- We are not tied to one company. We get several quotes for every job and take the best combination of qualification and price for that particular lift.
- The firms we use are ones we have worked with over the years. Qualified, insured, and familiar with our site, our access and our ground — not a contractor found at short notice.
- The rates are better than a one-off booking. We book this work regularly rather than once a year. That pricing goes to you.
Either way, we would rather the job went well than went through us.
Tell us what you have and how it arrives, and we will tell you honestly what it takes.
What we handle
- Loading and unloading, in and out
- Crating and uncrating
- Transloading between transport modes
- Positioning and repositioning within the yard or warehouse
- Preparing equipment for onward transport
Compressors, motors, heat exchangers, vessels, skid-mounted packages, structural steel, machined assemblies and crated process equipment are all routine here.
Tell us what is coming
Weight, dimensions, lifting points and how it arrives — that is usually all we need to tell you whether it is straightforward, and what it will take. If something is beyond what we can handle safely on site, we will say so rather than find out on the day.
